Planning a Second Wedding

A wedding is a unique moment that can happen once in a lifetime. Unfortunately, there are cases, when people have to get married for the second time.

Planning a second wedding is not as easy as you might think. That is why we have put together some tips meant to make your job much easier.

Design an action plan

There are so many things to keep in mind when planning a second wedding: where will the wedding take place, what is your budget, who to invite, what to wear, what will the menu, and so on. It is quite necessary to have a plan. The first thing on the agenda is of course, the budget. According to that, you will decide how many people to invite at your second wedding, where will the reception take place, what kind of food will you serve to your guests and many other important aspects.

If you have not chosen a wedding date, it is best to allow a minimum of six to eight months to plan your second wedding. Such period will leave you enough time to reserve a reception location, talk to a minister, buy all the clothes and accessories, etc. Sometimes, planning a second wedding can be even more difficult than planning your first wedding.

Who should you invite to your wedding? To answer this question, you must first decide where you will host your wedding. For small or medium weddings, it is recommended to invite only the family and some close friends. In some cases, the couple goes their honeymoon trip right after the reception. Buy airplane tickets, reserve a limousine to take you to the airport, and everything will be great.

A few tips

There are some important things that a second time bride must keep in mind. A few years ago, when planning a second wedding, the bride has absolutely no choice but to get a colored dress (anything but white). Fortunately, nowadays, wearing a flowing white gown is considered perfectly acceptable. Yet, there is one thing you need to avoid, and that is wearing a veil, which represents virginity.

In case children from the first marriage are involved, it is best that they have important roles in the ceremony. The second wedding could mean the joining of two families, so it is important to make everyone feel part of the new family.

Although planning a second wedding can be done the same way as the first time wedding, this is a perfect occasion to make things different, and still keep the sacred in the ceremony. A huge advantage is that now you have the experience and will avoid previous mistakes.
